After I finished Of Mice and Men I pretty much felt the same as my dad did with our first interview. Even though I’m not a tall or strong man like my dad or Lennie, I definitely get criticized by people for my lack of knowledge in math. So I can definitely relate to the inner turmoil Lennie faces when he messes up throughout the book; because like Lennie, I cannot help being good at the things I struggle most with.
My dad and I agreed what we learned most from the book was from Lennie because most people can relate to being at one time or another outcasted for our weaknesses. I would most definitely recommend this book to classmates or other adults who struggle with acceptance from a group of people because the book makes you realize our society today can sometimes be just as cruel as the society in the setting in Of Mice and Men to people who stand out more than the way society tells us to act or be.
